Not every print needs to be scanned. We use Keep, Maybe, and Pitch piles so the collection stays honest. Magnetic albums and scrapbooks with journaling get extra care—nothing is forced off a page at the kitchen table.

Common Questions.
How do I figure out the year?
Many old prints have no date on the back. A decade is often enough. Clothing, cars, furniture, photo paper size, and lab stamps help—and relatives often remember while you sort. Dates can be refined after scanning.
What about sticky albums and scrapbooks?
Magnetic albums from the ’80s and ’90s can tear emulsion if you force prints out. Work slowly, or bring the album as-is. Scrapbooks with journaling should be scanned as full pages as well as individual prints.
How should I ship a box of prints?
Pack them snug so they cannot slide. Drop an AirTag (or similar tracker) inside the box. Mail on Monday so the package moves during the week. We also offer Grand Rapids drop-off and Mid-Michigan pickup.
